ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

This statement was last updated on 19/11/2025.

The Reclaim Room CIC is committed to making our website and online content accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability, technology, or circumstances.

We are actively working to improve the accessibility and usability of our site following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What web accessibility is

Web accessibility means designing websites, tools, and technologies so that they can be used comfortably by people with diverse abilities, including:

  • People with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities

  • People using assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, speech-to-text tools, or alternative navigation devices

  • People with temporary impairments (e.g., eye strain or injuries)

  • People using mobile devices or older browsers

Our goal is to ensure that everyone can access our information, services, workshops, and resources equally.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines and have made the site accessible to the level of AA. This site's contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use. As part of this effort, we have also:

  • Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues

  • Set the language of the site

  • Set the content order of the site’s pages

  • Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages

  • Added alternative text to images

  • Implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast

  • Reduced the use of motion on the site

  • Ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site are accessible

Declaration of partial compliance with the standard due to third-party content

Some areas of our website rely on third-party platforms, such as embedded payment processors, social media content, or our merchandise storefront. While we aim to ensure everything we use is accessible, we cannot fully guarantee the compliance of third-party tools with WCAG standards.

Accessibility arrangements in the organisation

We are committed to reducing accessibility barriers in all of our in-person and online services. We aim to:

  • Provide step-free access to workshop venues wherever possible

  • Offer sensory-friendly adjustments for neurodivergent participants

  • Use clear verbal descriptions during makeup or skill demonstrations

  • Provide printed and audio-friendly materials when requested

  • Offer quiet spaces during community sessions

  • Make reasonable adjustments for participants with disabilities or access needs
