OUR STORY
The Reclaim Room CIC began during one of the hardest chapters of my life. I spent over a year housebound with OCD and agoraphobia, watching my world shrink to the walls around me. In that isolation, when everything felt overwhelming and frightening, I found an unexpected lifeline: makeup.

It wasn’t about appearance, no one was seeing me. It became a way to ground myself, to quiet my mind, to feel myself again. The simple ritual gave me something steady to hold on to. The colours and textures helped me reconnect with who I was beyond the fear.
And slowly, those small moments of care became moments of strength. Makeup helped me reclaim parts of myself I thought I had lost.

As I recovered, I realised that what helped me could help others too — people living with trauma, identity struggles, or the weight of feeling disconnected from themselves. That realisation grew into The Reclaim Room: a space for healing, expression, and empowerment. A place where makeup isn’t vanity, but a bridge back to yourself.

This CIC was built from lived experience, compassion, and the belief that everyone deserves a safe, gentle space to rebuild. What began as my journey back into the world has become a community for anyone finding their way home to themselves.
